The central regions of Vietnam are crying out for help. Floods have killed almost 100 people whilst nearly 60,000 families have been displaced. Livelihoods ruined, residential areas devastated and infrastructure that is vital to the local communities has been lost to rising flood waters, landslides and heavy rainfall. The weather is set to continue and it is predicted that more lives will be lost and many more families displaced.
We are aiming to raise funds to buy basic supplies to provide shelter, drinking water and rice. As the most basic needs of the people are not being met. We aim to use local charities and the Embassy of Vietnam to facilitate the distribution of funds.
We have close relationship with Vietnam. Not only are several members and alumni of the fund from Vietnam but we have a partnership with Vietnamese Universities. We collaborate with our friends at the National Economics University in Hanoi & The University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City. LSMIF are also sponsored by MB Securities whom are one of our donors to our investment fund. Therefore, we feel compelled to help others that were so readily available to help us.

With COVID-19 providing uncertainty in both terms of our university education and the day to day activities of LSMIF. We have begun steps to move the majority of our sessions to online. Face to face meetings will occur where necessary and following all recommendations and social distancing requirements.
LSMIF would also like to welcome and congratulate Nathan Smith former Training Officer in his promotion to Chief Investment Officer. Nathan will be responsible for our investments for 2020/2021 and helping with the general management of the fund.
Thank you very much everyone for your continued support. Although LSMIF will be different this year. LSMIF is a fantastic supplement of our education and an opportunity for real-world experience to all its members.

Dear all,
It is with great regret that LSMIF is closing all physical activities and meetings due to the spread and containment of COVID-19. This includes our Investment Committee Meetings.
We are still working from our digital office in ‘Slack’ a business chat/voice software solution and we continue to work hard during these unprecedented times.
Thank you to our sponsors for their continued support and our Board of Advisors.
